“Well, it’s funny
you mention that. Because I started thinking about all the
detective movies we used to watch together. I realized that in
times of stress people tend to get a bit cryptic. So what could
Tina have possibly meant by an Evil Tie? Me and her are friends, really good friends, so she probably thought I would understand. In all the stress of watching the circus folk pass out and Flippy’s aggressive behavior I wasn’t focusing. |

And with the
distraction of all these inmates and their desperate need for a
fashion mogul like myself… It wasn’t until the guard threw me in solitary confinement that I realized Evil means Bad. |

Bad Tie!! She meant Bad Thai! Get it? Food! Tina didn’t know the word because she doesn’t know much English. | ![]() |
I was
supposed to help tutor her but we ended up playing with all her
ropes instead. Anyway, everyone had Thai takeout for lunch that day except me, Felix and Flippy. Me and Felix always ate together in his train car and Flippy’s tongue is so burnt he usually just eats frozen stuff. So that was it! Food poisoning! |

Luckily, I had made friends with the guards so I didn’t have to beg
too much to get them to let me make a couple calls. And the inmates
didn’t charge too much to pull some strings on the outside. Oh, yeah, can I have some money out of the Voyeur fund for cigarettes and condoms?” |

“We don’t have a Voyeur fund.” “Oh. Shit. Well. Can I have some money anyway? I don’t think the guys like dodgers too much. I’ll make it up to you when I come back. I can come back, can’t I? I’ll do anything, and I mean anything!”“You can come back.” “Oh, gee. You have no idea how happy that makes me.” “I’m sorry things didn’t work out for you at the circus, Joel.” |
